My role
Research: Identified key user pain points to guide a friction-reducing redesign.
Wireframing: Built wireframes to streamline user flows and improve usability.
Design System: Developed a cohesive design system for consistent and scalable visuals.
Team
I led the project in direct collaboration with MTB's Product Team, with help from GlueGlue's Product Design Manager (Fabian Niederkofler).
The web-app was built with a mix of React libraries, leading to an outdated appearance and lack of cohesive UI.
Pages were scattered, with inconsistent navigation throughout the platform.
The process for creating a startup challenge was confusing and difficult for users to understand.
A Kanban view provides a clear overview and allows for quick movement of cards between different steps.
The absence of a table or list view can be a drawback, especially when there are numerous cards in each step.
Impact
The redesign of the platform yielded significant positive outcomes, leading to a remarkable 53% increase in user retention and a 15% rise in investor sign-ups during the first 3 months. These enhancements not only improved user engagement but also attracted a broader audience of investors, effectively strengthening the platform's ecosystem. This success demonstrates the impact of thoughtful design on user experience and highlights the platform's value in connecting startups and investors.
Key learnings
This project highlighted the importance of aligning user experience with business goals.
I gained valuable insights into the effectiveness of a cohesive design system for streamlining workflows and maintaining consistency. Collaborating with the company underscored the need to understand diverse user needs, reinforcing that tailored solutions are crucial for success.
